Unified Science

Academic collaboration platform for empowering researchers to boost their impact, get rewarded for contributions and control privacy.

Co-funded by the Horizon 2020 programme of the European Union

Unified Science

Unified Science is a decentralised social network. It is designed to provide data control rights for administrators for each independent instalment and privacy for individual users.

The concept is optimised for e.g. Universities and Research Institutions required to be EU GDPR-compliant. It is for customers who are reluctant to use services fuelled by advertisement revenue and data sales to 3rd parties (e.g. conventional social networks).

The feasibility study is conducted in collaboration with Aalto University and Cambridge Science Park.

In February 2019 Mesensei started EU Horizon 2020 funded project to assess feasibility of a  mutual credit based local economy  in context of scientific collaboration and dissemination of academic knowledge.

The focus of the feasibility study is to assess how such a model could impact the academic ecosystem to:

  • Improve academic networking and collaboration between academics and institutions
  • Incentivise and enable facilitation of faster publishing cycles
  • Explore new value chains for more effective utilisation of academic research and tacit knowledge by the society
