The Next Generation Internet (NGI) is a flagship initiative launched by European Commission. It aims to shape the future internet as an interoperable platform ecosystem that embodies the values that Europe holds dear: openness, inclusivity, transparency, privacy, cooperation, and protection of data.
In LEDGER, funded by EU Horizon 2020 and supported by Aalto University and Cambridge Science Park, Mesensei explores decentralised technologies and business models where data is a common good owned by citizens and wealth created by data-driven platforms is equally distributed. First deliverables by Mesensei in LEDGER, are the recently launched MVP for Unified Science, and a concept for a village app, which features a local economy model to support voluntary work and citizen science.
